Got your ping. Maybe the responsibility varies by county. I know it's Macomb County that plows the roads, including those in neighborhoods, in the winter.

We live on a dirt road, always horrible in both the snow and rain. The first winter after we moved back to Michigan, I emailed the Macomb County Road Commission about plowing our neighborhood. A guy called me and actually thought I was funny! He said that dirt roads can't be plowed. I got snow tires.

Thanks for commenting on my article griping about Michigan roads.

Various other people, including the head of my division at work, said that Van Dyke should be maintained by the county. My parents live in Oakland County, where Rochester Road near where they live was in bad shape. Oakland County spent a year fixing it, and maybe that's because of money issues, but they did fix it.

That's a great comment that your cousin's son made. Is Dearborn Wayne County? I forget. If so, yes, the problem probably is the lack of funds.

yes, Tara e-mailed me last night to see if she can call me during the day on weekdays. I assured her that I am always here. I'm hoping to hear from her today, as I was correct in my assumption that he doesn't like her on the computer in the evenings and she needs to be careful what she says and does in the evenings. I also gave her the general location as to where I live so in an emergency, she can find me. She has a lot to think about right now, and she's grateful for all of our caring and prayers. Send her a gather e-mail, but be general in what you say in case he reads them, and let her know you care. It's boosting her.
